Right outside our bedroom window is a wonderfully gargantuan sycamore tree; it's a beast of thing, years old and strangely reassuring. Yet as I glanced at it the other morning, while I pulled the duvet back and plumped up the pillows, I immediately noticed it had altered, seemingly overnight. Ever so slightly, almost imperceptibly, its leaves has taken on a warm, shimmering light and with it I knew that autumn had arrived, if only just.
Ever since, my thoughts have inevitably turned to cosy winter wardrobe staples, rich warm hues and imaginings of beautiful thick textiles wrapping me up against the cold. Step forward the humble scarf, my absolute favourite accessory and one that is super simple to make.
